Industrial Engineer & Scientific Assistant in Winterthur, Switzerland
I'm an engineer and research assistant at the ZHAW School of Engineering. Since 2021 I've worked on Industry 4.0 projects with industry partners, mostly around automation, digital twins and applied AI. I also led Sight Guide, a joint project with ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich that took third place at Cybathlon 2024 and was published in Science Robotics. I'm now doing an MSc in Business Administration on the side, so I'm as comfortable building an AI agent or programming a robot as I am writing a business plan.
3D web app for a drone exhibition at the OLMA trade fair. Visitors scan a QR code at an exhibit and get the drone in 3D in their mobile browser, with specs, a factsheet download and an optional flight mode. It works offline and needs no app install. Built with React, TypeScript and Three.js.
2026
Wearable navigation aid for blind and visually impaired people, built with ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. I led the project for three years, covering coordination, sponsoring and design. At Cybathlon 2024 we won the qualification round, finished third in the final and received the jury's Innovation & Usability Award.
2022-2024
Applied research in Industry 4.0 together with industry partners. I lead funded research projects and handle planning, coordination and stakeholder management across universities and companies. Topics: digitalization, automation, data science and AI, including digital twins and industrial IoT.
2021–Present
Prepared the technical side of quotations and orders for customer projects. Responsible for process-compliant documentation as part of quality assurance, and developed customer-specific solutions from project planning through to technical design.
2016–2020
Four-year apprenticeship as a design engineer (Konstrukteur EFZ), trained by libs and placed at ABB. Designed components and assemblies, drew gas and electrical schematics, and planned and ran smaller projects.
